Al Habtoor shares insights during the inaugural CNN Majlis

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Founding Chairman, Al Habtoor Group was the first guest to participate in CNN Arabic’s new interactive session, CNN Majlis. c is a new series of Majlis-style gatherings with global thought-leaders and influencers from around the Arab region.

The live broadcast took place from The W Hotel Dubai – Al Habtoor City on Tuesday 28 February 2017. Audience members included dignitaries got the opportunity to hear Al Habtoor share his insights on regional issues and current affairs. Ranging from politics to the economy, Al Habtoor addressed regional trends, progress of the UAE, as well as his journey to success.

He said, “The Majlis has always been part of our culture. When I was young I would visit the Majlis with my father. I would often sit with our leaders, like Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. I learned so much from these gatherings. It provided me with the best start in life. I encourage more young Arabs to do the same. They should learn from their elders.”

The hour-long session, aimed at inspiring people from the Arab world while providing an interactive platform for them to participate in the dialogue. The discussion was moderated by Caroline Faraj, VP, Head of Arabic Services CNN, was broadcast live on the CNN Arabic site and Facebook live.

“CNN Majlis aims to engage with the Arab youth, business professionals and innovators to showcase examples and best practices that can be emulated across the region,” said Caroline Faraj. “Individuals in the region, like Chairman Al Habtoor, set an example for the Arab Youth. We encourage voices, opinions and experiences to be shared, as they are the catalyst for change in the world we live in.”
