The Khalaf Al Habtoor Hospital was recently opened in Hrar Akkar, a remote Northern Village of Lebanon where there had been a shortage of medical services, specialized physicians and adequate equipment resulting in many people from the impoverished region to travel to hospitals outside of the region like Tripoli or Beirut.
The official inauguration of the Khalaf Al Habtoor Hospital, organized under the patronage of Grand-Mufti of Lebanon Sheikh Abdul-Latif Derian, was attended by several high-profile people. Present at the ceremony was Musallam Al Mansouri, Director of the Humanitarian and Development Affairs Attaché at the UAE Embassy in Lebanon, who represented Hamad Saeed Sultan Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Lebanon.
Derian praised the UAE for its ongoing support of Lebanaon, saying, “The UAE has been supporting efforts of building Lebanon as it established development and humanitarian projects across the country in order to overcome its living and economic circumstances.”
Al Mansouri added that the UAE gives attention to foreign aid given its commitment to its humanitarian message instilled by founder of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and cherished by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to provide assistance to all people regardless of their religion, race, or identity.
