Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor held talks with a delegation from The Carter Center at his office on Al Wasl Road on Tuesday December 8, 2015. The delegation included Curtis Kohlhaas, Chief Development Officer; Thomas H. Bornemann, Director, The Rosalynn Carter Fellowships for Mental Health Journalism; Rebecca Palpant Shimkets, Associate Director, The Rosalynn Carter Fellowships for Mental Health Journalism, Mental Health Program.
Also present was Dr Abdulkareem Sultan Al Olama, CEO and Member of the Board of the Al Jalila Foundation, a UAE non-profit organization aimed at promoting the UAE as a centre of excellence in the field of medical education and research; Ziad Ida, Director of Community Relations and Safety of Al Habtoor Group and Abdul Salam Marzooqi, General Manager, Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation.
The Carter Center delegation visited Qatar and the United Arab Emirates on a fact-finding mission for its health programme, and to raise awareness for mental health issues as well as funds. The Carter Center and the Al Jalila Foundation are in talks to set up a Rosalynn Carter Fellowships for Mental Health Journalism in Dubai.
