The Chairman was recently honoured by the UAE Red Crescent for his continued support of the charity. Members of the UAE Red Crescent personally thanked the Chairman for his ongoing support at a private event at his Majlis on Al Wasl Road.
The Red Crescent delegation included Mohammad Al Zarooni, Director of the Red Crescent, Dubai branch; Khamis Al Jounaibi, Head of Human Resources; Rashid Al Yamahi, Head of Volunteers Department; Yahya Al Mouini, Head of Humanitarian Relief, and several other Red Crescent employees and volunteers.
Al Habtoor was awarded the Red Crescent Shield of Honour in recognition of his humanitarian contributions over the years. They also gave him a certificate of excellence and appreciation and symbolic gifts.
Mohammad Al Zarooni said Al Habtoor was a “shining example of charity and giving”. He said, "The Red Crescent is the recipient of the lion’s share of Mr. Al Habtoor's humanitarian initiative which have exceeded AED 100 million.”
He added, “The contributions include a generous donation of 100 vehicles for the services sector in Palestine a years ago, as well as a AED 10 million campaign for assistance to Syrian people. An example of Mr Al Habtoor’s compassion, is that after seeing a report on TV about two Syrian girls who were seriously injured when their house was bombed, Mr Al Habtoor paid for their medical bills. These are just a few examples.”
The delegation also praised the work conducted via the Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation (KAHF).
