Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman of the Al Habtoor Group held talks with His Excellency Zoltán Jancsi, the Hungarian Ambassador to the UAE on Sunday September 29, 2014.
They discussed the economic climate in the UAE. Al Habtoor said, “There is a new energy in the UAE. There is so much going on here and investors from all over the world are realising that.”
Al Habtoor himself has invested heavily in Hungary. He has two hotels in the Hungarian capital Budapest. In 2011 he purchased Le Méridien Budapest, and earlier this year he bought the InterContinential Hotel on the banks of the Danube.
“Hungary is a beautiful country, and I am fortunate to have two hotels in prime locations boasting spectacular views,” Al Habtoor said. “Plus, the people are very warm and welcoming.”
Emirates airline recently commenced a daily direct service to Budapest making it easier to travel there. Plus Hungarian low-cost airline now offers flights direct from Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport.
In June, Al Habtoor launched the Hungarian-language edition of his best-selling autobiography ‘Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor - the Autobiography’ in Hungary. The account of his journey through life is now available in three languages.
