Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman of the Al Habtoor Group, welcomed Sheikh Ekrima Sabri to his Majlis in Dubai on Tuesday July 15, 2014. Sheikh Sabri, who is the Mufti of Palestine, and Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, expressed his best wishes to Al Habtoor on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Al Habtoor and Sheikh Sabri talked about the status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is located in the heart of Jerusalem. They raised concerns over the repeated attacks by Israeli settlers who threaten the security of the mosque and its congregation on a daily basis.
Al Habtoor emphasized his support for the Palestinian cause and his strong solidarity with his brothers in Palestinian to fulfill their aspirations to recover their legitimate historical rights.
He said, "I have always given close attention to the Palestinian plight, as I am aware of their suffering at the hands of the Israelis. I am pleased to do all I can to alleviate their suffering."
Sheikh Sabri expressed his gratitude to the UAE for its continued support of the Palestinian people. He commended the fraternal and humanitarian initiatives undertaken by the Emirates to promote the Palestinians' attachment to their land and sacred symbols.
The Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation (KAHF) has recently offered 500 food rations to the Palestinians under the initiative of Ramadan aid convoys. It also contributed a sum of US $180,000 to help create job opportunities for the refugee farmers who suffer from food insecurity, in two areas in the West Bank.
