Khalaf Al Habtoor, Chairman, Al Habtoor Group, hosted a dinner in honour of Viktor Lukashenko, Assistant to the Belarus President for National Security Affairs, on a recent visit to Dubai in early November. The visit came fresh on the heels of Al Habtoor’s four-day trip to Belarus in October.
Also in attendance was HE Rashid Abdullah Al-Nuaimi, who was the UAE’s Foreign Minister from 1990-2005. Al-Nuaimi has held numerous government posts since 1971.
Other guests included Sultan Al Habtoor, President, Al Habtoor Motors; Mohammed Al Habtoor, Vice Chairman and CEO, Al Habtoor Group; Ahmed Al Habtoor, CEO, Al Habtoor Motors and senior members of the Al Habtoor Group.
The two sides further discussed ways to boost bilateral relations between the UAE and Belarus and Mr Lukashenko discussed potential business deals with Mr Al Habtoor.
“The dinner was aimed at building on our friendship,” said Al Habtoor. “I was very impressed with Belarus following my recent trip there. I can see plenty of promising potential for cooperation and business tie-ups. I am always on the lookout for investments abroad,” he added.
Earlier in the year the Al Habtoor Group Chairman welcomed the Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich to the UAE.
Viktor Lukashenko is the son of the Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Belarus for the last 18 years.
