The Chairman of Al Habtoor Group, Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, was in for a treat when he welcomed the Chairperson of Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA), HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at the Group’s Head Office on November 26.
During the visit, HRH Princess Haya personally thanked Mr. Al Habtoor for his support and generous donation to the development of the Khalaf Al Habtoor Medical Simulation Center which is located at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Academic Medical Center (MBRM-AMC) in Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC).
The Center is part of a teaching hospital which provides hands-on opportunity to practice optimal healthcare, encourage critical thinking and interdisciplinary collaboration among medical teams in Dubai. The state-of-the-art clinical skills training center is the first comprehensive training facility of its kind in the UAE for the training of healthcare professionals in a simulated environment with no risk to patients. This unique training is exclusive as it uses interactive human patient simulators that provide both experienced clinicians and students (postgraduates and undergraduates) the opportunity to learn, rehearse and perfect procedures – from the basic to the extremely complex – without putting the patient at harm.
“I was delighted to welcome HRH Princess Haya at the Al Habtoor Group,” said Khalaf Al Habtoor, who is a well-known philanthropist. “The health of a nation is paramount and it is important that we not only have world class infrastructure, but also have first class training facilities. Supporting this cause is very dear to me.”
Also at the meeting were Sultan Al Habtoor, President of Al Habtoor Motors, Mohammed Al Habtoor, Vice Chairman & CEO, Al Habtoor Group and Ahmed Al Habtoor, CEO, Al Habtoor Motors.
Al Habtoor presented HRH Princess Haya with a signed copy of his recently released autobiography which was unveiled at a book launch event at the Habtoor Grand Resort and Spa on November 13.
