The much anticipated Threadneedle Dubai Gold Cup series, kicks off on March 2 this year and will continue till March 11. It follows the highly successful Royal Jet Cup, which was played for the first time from February 16 to 25.

Both of the prestigious events take place in the grounds of the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club, at the Arabian Ranches Dubai.

Threadneedle, a world leading asset manager and a publicly quoted company, extended its support to this year’s Gold Cup Series because of the success achieved in last year’s tournament.

Royal Jet, the award-winning international luxury flight services provider, based in the UAE, signed as the title sponsor this year for the newly established Royal Jet Cup.

Mohammed Al Habtoor, Chairman and founder of the Gold Cup Series, commented, “We were thrilled by the success and popularity by which the Threadneedle Dubai Gold Cup was received last year, which is why we introduced this year’s Royal Jet Cup. Royal Jet is a leader in its field and I am thrilled about this newly formed connection.”

Shane O’Hare, President and CEO of Royal Jet had this to say about the new partnership, “We are delighted that this sponsorship gives us a further opportunity to enhance the close relationship we enjoy with the Al Habtoor family, founders of the Dubai Gold Cup. We wish all participating teams in the Royal Jet Cup the best of luck.”

Some of the most respected names in international polo have confirmed their participation in the Gold Cup Series. A total of eight teams from different corners of the world will play in each of the two tournaments.

The Gold Cup will be held under the rules and regulations of the Hurlingham Polo Association, the governing body of the sport in the UK and Ireland. The Hurlingham Polo Association will provide umpires and officials to oversee for the week-long tournament.
