Ghantoot claimed victory over hosts Habtoor Polo in an exciting final at the Bentley Emirates Gold Cup polo tournament on Friday March 14, 2014 at the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club. It came down to the wire with Ghantoot inching ahead to win 7-5 against the hosts. It marked the team’s second win in two years. Ghantoot was also the winner of the McLaren Silver Cup.

The Dubai Open is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

The victorious side included Argentine Oscar Colombres, his compatriot Juan Zubiaurre, the UAE’s Ali Al Merri and Berazadi. Ghantoot’s Pelayo Berazadi, from Spain, was named Most Valuable Player of the 10-team tournament, and Cenicienta, ridden by Facundo Sola, was named best pony.

Separately, Mahra Polo won the Power Horse Cup 8-7 against Bin Drai.
