The Al Habtoor Group held its annual Employee Excellence Awards on Wednesday January 29, 2014. The Chairman of the Group, Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor personally congratulated each of the winners at an award ceremony held at the Habtoor Grand Beach Resort & Spa.
The Employee Excellence Awards groups together all the company’s units, including employees from the Al Habtoor head office, Habtoor Hotels (The Habtoor Grand Resort & Spa, The Metropolitan Palace Hotel, The Metropolitan Hotel Deira), Metropolitan Catering Services, Al Habtoor Motors, Diamondlease and Emirates International Schools (Jumeirah and Meadows).
The Chairman was on stage to personally hand over all 25 awards at the event. Al Habtoor said, “The Employee Excellence Awards is one of our biggest events of the year. We want to show our top performers that we appreciate their achievements and to motivate all our staff to excel. This is very important to me. We want to ensure we retain our top talent.”
He added, “We have witnessed rapid growth across all units over the past 12 months. We recently opened a new hotel in Dubai - The Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah and we are building a new landmark in Dubai - Al Habtoor City, which will include a further three five star hotels, a permanent Franco Dragone Entertainment Group production, a Marina and European-style boulevard and three residential towers. This is very unique to the region.”
The most coveted award was the Chairman’s Award, which is handpicked by the Chairman each year. This year he chose three winners; Karl Hamer, Managing Director, Al Habtoor Motors; Malek Mousa, Purchasing Manager, Al Habtoor Group and Mahmoud Kamal, Cluster Director- IT, Habtoor Hotels. The Chairman said each of the winners had achieved excellence and proved themselves to be valued employees.
The Business Unit Award was awarded to Al Habtoor Motors. The unit has experienced rapid growth over the past 12 months under the lead of Sultan Al Habtoor, President; Ahmed Al Habtoor and Karl Hamer, Managing Director.
