Following a meeting between Khalaf Al Habtoor and the Founder and Chairman of the World Future Council – Jakob Von Uexkull at the Al Habtoor Head office on January 16, 2012, the Al Habtoor Group, agreed to sponsor the World Future Council Energy Summit.
This was the fifth time the summit had been held. It was the first time it took place in the UAE and was staged at Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) from January 16 – 19, 2012.
The World Future Council is a non-profitable organisation which aims to protect both the environment and society for future generations by pursuing the implementation of long-term policies that promote sustainable living. As a result it works to highlight the impact of governmental decisions and policies in the areas of law; climate change; energy conservation; sustainability; disarmament and world peace.
“We are most grateful to Khalaf Al Habtoor for his generous contribution to the event,” said Von Uexkull following the meeting. “We appreciate too his support in what we are trying to achieve around the world.”
