Khalaf Al Habtoor welcomes the new Hungarian Ambassador to the UAE

Al Habtoor Group Chairman, Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor welcomed Hungary’s new Ambassador the UAE, His Excellency Zoltan Jancsi on Monday September 16. He was accompanied by Balázs Gerstl, Hungary’s First Secretary of Economic Affairs. Also present from the Al Habtoor Group was Mohammed Al Habtoor, Vice-Chairman and CEO; Paul Rayner, Advisor to the Chairman and Sanjeev Agarwala, Director Strategy & Business Development.

HE Jancsi said Hungary is considering the idea of opening a trade office in Dubai to reinforce trade, industry and diplomatic ties between the countries.

Al Habtoor said, “It was a pleasure to meet Ambassador Jancsi today.”

He added, “The Hungarian people are very welcoming. I have visited the country several times and am always looking for other potential investment opportunities in this part of the world.”

Ambassador Jancsi informed the Al Habtoor Group Chairman that Hungary is committed to boosting ties with Dubai. He said budget carrier, Wizz Air, is due to start direct flights from the Hungarian capital Budapest to Dubai four times a week, effective October. The airline will be amongst the first internationallybased carries to commence passenger flights from the new airport, Al- Maktoum International at Dubai World Central (DWC).

In 2012 Al Habtoor acquired the historic 5-star Le Méridien Budapest, a few steps away from the city’s famous River Danube.
