The Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton recently made an appearance in Dubai for the announcement of an exclusive collaboration between Al Habtoor Motors and the luxury sports car manufacturer McLaren Automotive.
The world renowned sports car driver attended the opening of the first McLaren showroom in Dubai on November 9. The event was hosted by Sultan Al Habtoor, the President of Al Habtoor Motors and Greg Levine, the McLaren Automotive Sales and Marketing Director. It was attended by over 150 VIP guests. “It’s great to be here in this amazing city at the launch of McLaren Dubai,” commented Hamilton.
“Al Habtoor Motors have delivered an exceptional showroom and tonight, looking back at McLaren’s achievements over the past 30 years, has filled everyone with a sense of pride in being associated with McLaren, and also with an excitement at what is to come in the future.
The UAE has one of the greatest car cultures in the world: they love cars out here. And you can especially see the appreciation for new, innovative and high tech sports cars.”
He also commented on the 12C – the innovative MP4-12C high performance sports car which is the McLaren’s debut car model in the UAE. “The 12C is perfectly suited to this market and I’m sure customers in this part of the world will get the same thrill from driving the car as I have,’’ he said.
The new McLaren showroom in Dubai is located in the Lofts on Emaar Boulevard and is overlooked by the Burj Khalifa. It’s one of just 35 McLaren showrooms around the world and is one of the largest. It offers the very latest in car configuration facilities.
